Seit einigen Monaten unterstützt uns die Irin Maedbh Pierce im Fachbereich Englisch in unterschiedlichen Klassen an der GvB. Lest hier ihren Bericht:

„My name is Maedbh Pierce, and since September 2021, I have been the English language assistant at Gabriele von Bülow Gymnasium, working with some of the many estimable students and teachers.

Originally I am from Kerry, in Ireland (photo), but I spent the past few years living in Dublin and completing my bachelors in English and Philosophy.

I am passionate about teaching, and throughout my degree and after,  regularly tutored in subjects ranging from Creative Writing and English to History, Philosophy and Maths.

Having studied German in high school, the opportunity to come to Berlin was unmissable. Similarly, throughout my degree, I became accustomed to German history and culture, as many of whom we study in Philosophy are German thinkers.

My experience here in Berlin thus far has been incredible. I am continuously impressed by the students‘ enthusiasm to learn, the kindness they show each other and the welcoming, growth-ensuring community GvB fosters.

Last semester, I had the opportunity to work closely with the Cambridge English Course. As we focused on the writing component of their exam, it was a privilege to witness their self-expression and eagerness to grasp the varying forms.

I am looking forward to what this next semester will bring!“
